Jonathan Burden LLC has been a pioneering antique and decorative art business in the fashionable downtown neighborhood of Tribeca since 1999.
The gallery, located in a gutted former dairy storage warehouse, is a large impressive space that houses an eclectic and striking collection. With an emphasis on scale, quality of materials, surface and construction we hand pick our inventory from many sources, local and far. Our environment at the gallery is welcoming with attentive and knowledgeable staff. Our gallery collaborates with local artists, blacksmiths, ceramicists, glass blowers and cabinet-makers to bring unique contemporary furniture and decorative arts to our clients. 'Its like taking a trip to London -minus the neverending flight- and I can always count on the store to have pieces with great scale' (Victoria Hagan).
In addition, we have a full service restoration workshop on the premises that specializes in English and Continental furniture.
Jonathan Burden, Owner, is formerly from Yorkshire, England and received a formal training from the venerable West Dean College, Sussex.
Arriving in New York City in the mid 1980s, Jonathan worked for Sotheby’s auction house. Jonathan opened his own shop in the West Village in the mid 1990s. There he developed relationships with top dealers and decorators, auction houses as well as private collectors from around the world.
