Jonathan Burden
Jonathan Burden is a conservator and dealer of antique furniture. After completing a British cabinet maker's apprenticeship he trained at West Dean College in Sussex and then to Ronald Phillips, London. Jonathan is a restorer for collectors, the trade and auction houses.
He has served on the furniture vetting committee for The Winter Antiques Fair, NY for 12 years.
For nearly three decades Burden has been a fixture of New York interiors. The gallery and workshop have moved from the West Village to Tribeca to a converted warehouse in Long Island City, and are now at the Fine Arts Building on East 59th Street, a space where Jonathan’s restoration practice and an eclectic collection of antique and contemporary furniture and decorative arts coexist.
The stock ranges across periods: 18th-century Anglo-Indian, Chinese and Georgian furniture, Regency and Continental pieces, modern lighting, and contemporary work made by Burden with local artists. Burden supplies enthusiastic collectors, leading decorators and museums.
